MDS103 Beef Breed Identification is an onscreen instructional material composed in Microsoft PowerPoint and should run well on PC or Mac platforms. The CD-ROM is part of the updated series of breed identification released in October of 2005.
It includes updated images of 55 breeds of beef cattle, revised text of breed history and characteristics, and resources for instruction of breed identification. Presentations include educational sessions designed for instruction, quizzing sessions with keys, interactive sessions for self quizzing and feedback, student handouts for note taking, and direct links to each breed organization's Web site.
Each breed includes a bull and cow image and is divided into categories according to origin. Navigation is well designed for ease of use, direct links to instructional information, hyperlinked breeds, and breed categories. In all, this CD includes over 1000 slides.
