Teach your students about biodiesel production in the context of global energy issues. This hands-on curriculum includes lesson plans and a complete starter kit to produce biodiesel in the science lab.

The content and materials are appropriate for high school science classes.

The curriculum contains four lesson plans:

  • introduction to energy
  • the need for alternative energy sources
  • the soybean
  • biodiesel

Each lesson plan includes a PowerPoint Presentation, handouts, lab exercises, and student quizzes and keys.

The production kit includes a complete set of materials and supplies to produce 200 ml of biodiesel from raw soybean oil. Very specific instructions and clear safety guidelines are also provided.

Lab kit replenishment materials are also available.
